Aalborg Zoo's 10 years old isbjørnehun(polarbear female) Malik gave birth last weekend with three small cubs. The birth came a little earlier than expected for captive polar bear's many births until about Dec. 1. But the zoo had been prescient, and which had been installed audio and infrared film equipment in the food cavity, so zoo staff are constantly able to keep an eye on the new mother and her cubs. Polar bears are usually two cubs, and as often happens in nature was one of the three cubs sickly, and died shortly after. The second fared little better, but also died after a few days, which also happens occasionally. Apart from the noise, the third youth was doing, which is healthy polar bear cubs to be, it soon became clear that it was vibrant and it has been repeatedly seen how it nursed by his mother, who eagerly licks and it fits. The cub is now approaching a week and still thriving well and hope is bright green, the Aalborg Zoo's 2 years old male mice, the famous and beloved Milak, which today is becoming a big, strong ungbjørn ( young bear), soon gets a sequel .
"We are really happy and excited," says Henrik Johansson. "In 2009 the story of Milak a great interest in Aalborg Zoo, both inside and outside its borders. We experienced an explosive increase in the number of unique visits to our website and 2009 ended up also being a record year for us, which Milak undoubtedly have a lot of credit for. Thus I have also high expectations that the new polar bear cub will bring many visitors to the zoo during the season, "says Henrik Johansson
